Beta tester finds mention of lootboxes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Apparently, the supply boxes appeared in the in-game menu due to a bug.

A blogger under the nickname Nero discovered the mention of supply crates after having received the sixth level in the game. Only the in-game menu indicates the presence of lootboxes in the shooter – they were not found within the beta.

Activision and Infinity Ward have not previously revealed whether loot boxes will appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. At the time of publication of the news, the developers did not comment on the mention of supply boxes in the beta test.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare open beta for PS4 was supposed to begin in Russia on the evening of September 12. However, technical support for the PlayStation told the players that the shooter would not be released at all in the Russian PS Store.

Activision PR service later clarified that the beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PS4 in Russia will not take place. PC and Xbox One users will be able to test the game from September 19 to 23.

A full release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is scheduled for October 25th.
