In the week ending September 8th, UK retail sales were generally weak. NBA 2K20, released on the 6th, took the first line, and although this is a good result for the American game, its performance actually turned out to be almost a third worse than 2K19 a year earlier.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy took second place thanks to the release on Switch – over the past week, 92% of sales fell on the Nintendo console. The launch on the platform itself, however, was only a small part of what the release on PS4 and Xbox One managed to achieve in November 2018.
Last week, the leader of the chart was the Astral Chain from PlatinumGames, in second place was Wreckfest, and Control from Remedy was in fourth. All three were new releases, and in the second week in the top 10 only THQ Nordic left Wreckfest. Astral Chain showed a 73% decline in sales and went down to 11th line, and Control with a 76% decline – to 14th.
Meanwhile, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan showed only a 53 percent decline and retained third place. Previously, the game also bypassed Control and Astral Chain on the EMEAA charts.
In addition to the NBA 2K20 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Catherine: Full Body for PS4 made it to the top 10 from the new releases in the first week of September.
