At D23, Pixar creative director and Puzzle director Pete Docker revealed details about the studio’s next animated film called Soul. The picture was announced back in June and then it was known that Docker would put it.
Soul talks about a music teacher who dreams of performing at The Blue Note jazz club in New York. As a result of an accident, he finds himself in a parallel world and now he needs to return home with the help of a soul named 22.
The main character will be voiced by Jamie Foxx (“Django Unchained”), and in addition, Tina Fey (“Wine Country”) and David Diggs (“Miracle”) will play in the film.
The music for the film will be written by Atticus Ross and Nine Inch Nails band leader Trent Reznor. Previously, they worked together on the soundtrack for David Fincher’s Social Network.
“Soul” will be released June 19, 2020.
