The success of Warframe was reported in the six-month financial report of the Chinese holding Leyou, which includes Digital Extremes, among others.
In the first six months of 2019, no major updates were released for the game, however, revenue still continued to grow – and increased by 1.4% compared to the beginning of the previous year.
This was facilitated primarily by the launch on the Wegame platform in China, as well as the release on the Nintendo Switch at the end of 2018. According to Leyou, the involvement of players has grown by almost 10% – active users per month has increased by 9.7%.
In addition, more than 11 million people registered with Warframe over the year – the number of users increased by 27.1% to 53.1 million.
Leyou said they were pleased with the success of the online shooter, noting that it is in the top of the highest grossing shareware games on PS4, Xbox One and Switch. At the same time, the company is considering the possibility of releasing it on other digital platforms in China.
The management of the corporation believes that Warframe expects further growth due to major additions and updates, which were announced at TennoCon 2019 in July. Players showed particular interest in him – according to the report, the number of active users per day during the event reached record levels.
