Screenshots from the same locations were published on the PlayStation blog as a clear comparison of 1998 and 2019 MediEvil.
The article emphasized that the developers of the remake from Other Ocean Interactive left the level design almost untouched, and tried to reduce the changes compared to the original to cosmetic.
In addition, Sony noted that the voice acting also tried to keep authentic. The replicas of many characters have remained the same, using audio for the original game, and the scriptwriter Jason Wilson, who gave the voice to the main character in the 1998 action, will completely rewrite Dan Fortescue’s replicas.
The soundtrack was also recorded again – compositions originally invented for synthesizers will be performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Work on the music for the remake was supervised by a duet of composers Bob & Barn, the authors of the original music.
The release of MediEvil on PS4 will take place on October 25th.
