Neil Blomkamp resigned as director of the sequel to Robocop

The reason was the conflict of schedules.

On his twitter, the director said that he was busy filming a new thriller, and MGM could not wait and wanted work on Robocop Returns to begin now.

Blompkamp noted that he would be happy to watch the movie together with fans in the movie theater when it was released.

Who now will replace the director is still unknown.

Robocop Returns is a sequel to the original 1987 film, which does not take into account all of its sequels and restart. The work on it became known in the summer of 2018, and the scriptwriters of the first film, Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, were involved in it as producers.

Neil Blomkamp talked about the progress of work on the film, back in July, saying that the original costume would appear in it.
