The original King’s Bounty was released in 1990 – the game was developed and released by New World Computing, which later created the Heroes of Might and Magic series.

Katauri Interactive later released the Crossroads of the Worlds add-on and King’s Bounty: Legions online strategy, after which two more full-fledged parts, Warrior of the North and Dark Side, were also released.
