The game is created for consoles and PCs.
Polish publishing house CI Games reported that the development of a sequel to Lords of the Fallen will be engaged in the Defiant Studios team from New York. It was founded in 2016 by former top manager of Avalanche Studios and game director of Just Cause 3 David Greens (David Grijns).
Representatives of the publisher did not share the details of the project and only said that the game is being developed for consoles and PCs, and the partnership with Defiant Studio was an important step in preparing the “high-level” continuation of the Lords of the Fallen.
CI Games management reviewed several studios claiming to have Lords of the Fallen 2 developed, and focused on a team from New York because of the experience of the staff and the “impressive” concept that it offered.
The sequel was announced shortly after the release of the first game, but since then the development has hardly moved from a dead end. Tomasz Gop, executive producer of Lords of the Fallen, who left the project in 2017, said that at that time the game was still at the concept stage.
The first part of the Lords of the Fallen came out in 2014 and became one of the first ideological heirs of Souls-games. It was developed by the studio Deck13, which later released the game The Surge. The original Lords of the Fallen has sold over 2 million copies.
