The company will finish the game on their own.
In the summer of 2018, the Polish publishing house CI Games reported that the development of the Lords of the Fallen sequel was given to the Defiant studio, which would abandon all existing developments and start the zero process.
On May 15, almost a year after the transfer of development, CI Games in its press release announced the termination of the contract with Defiant, citing the unsatisfactory quality of the vertical cut as the reason.
The quality was lower than expected and described by the company, despite three requests to improve it at this stage.
from the CI Games statement
Defiant herself gave a comment publication Eurogamer and said she did not agree with what it exposes CI Games.
We strongly disagree with what CI Games is trying to expose Defiant Studios. The team that worked on the company’s project consisted of extremely talented developers, and we support them. Our team knows how to make quality games, and this is indicated by their key roles in creating top-level projects such as Just Cause 3, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 5 and DmC: Devil May Cry.
from defiant statement
Now CI Games is planning to finish the work on Lords of the Fallen 2 on its own, and it is not known yet which publishing team will be engaged in this.
Over the original Lords of the Fallen, released in 2014, the studio Deck13 worked – now it is engaged in The Surge, the second part of which is scheduled for 2019.
