Chinese Overwatch players said they were banned for mentioning Winnie the Pooh in the chat.

It is forbidden in the country to joke about the similarity of the head of the People’s Republic of China and the little bear.

Chinese players complained about bans for using the name Winnie the Pooh in the Overwatch chat. Apparently, accounts are blocked at the mention of a fictional character in any form, for example, Winnie (Winnie) or Winnie the Pooh (Winnie the Pooh). Blizzard and regional publisher shooter NetEase have not commented on the situation.

Banned players said that they had been provoked by a certain user or group in the chat.

I have played Overwatch since “beta” and have never broken the rules, have not used cheats and have not offended anyone. Never received a warning. Two days ago, my account was banned for abuse. And today a friend told me that if you write “Winnie the Pooh” in the chat, you will be banned.

A few days ago someone in a chat asked who the Tigers’ best friend was. I replied: “Winnie the Pooh.” I was banned for it? I did not know that I could not write such a chat.

The Blizzard forum is also filled with many complaints related to the ban for mentioning the hero of the fairy tale Alan Milne.

This is not the first time that the Chinese regulatory authorities have stopped any public mention of Winnie the Pooh. This is due to jokes about the similarity of the head of the Communist Party Xi Jinping with a teddy bear.

Earlier in the country, allegedly for this reason, the rental of the film “Christopher Robin” was banned , and in the trailer of Kingdom Hearts III, local media “covered up”Winnie the Pooh with a white spot.
