IO Interactive loses staff amid Square Enix attempts to sell a developer.
The authors of Hitman did not tell how many employees will have to dismiss. The studio claims that the decision was made for its preparation “for future adventures.”
At the moment, there has never been a buyer for IO Interactive, so the publisher is likely to reduce the cost of maintaining the studio or make it more profitable for the next owner.
On the sale of IO became known in mid-May. On the future of the series Hitman is not reported, although in the summer of 2016, the developers planned to release three seasons of the episodic version of the game.
