Starz closed the series “Double” after two seasons

The creators of the detective show with John K. Simmons in the lead role are looking for new areas to continue.

According to Deadline , the decision to close the Counterpart (the “Twin”) was made in late December and early January. After that, the producers from the MRC studio began searching for platforms that could acquire the rights to the series and continue it. At the time of writing, no service or channel has bought the show. The final episode of the second Counterpart season will be released on February 17th.

The plot of the series tells about Howard Silk – an American who lives in Berlin and works in a powerful international organization. One day he discovers a passage into a parallel reality, where his counterpart, who serves in intelligence, lives.

The creator, screenwriter and director of the second season Counterpart – Justin Marks, the author of the script for the film “The Jungle Book” by John Favreau.

The rating of both seasons Counterpart on Rotten Tomatoes is 100%, however, the series was not able to gather a significant audience – the last episode, which was released at the time of writing, watched 434,000 people live.
