According to the publication The New York Times, Facebook is working on a problem that is becoming increasingly relevant with the development of instant messengers: sending messages from one platform to another. In particular, the social network should allow correspondence between, for example, Instagram and WhatsApp.
In total, cross-messages are planned to be implemented in three services: WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. In this case, each will remain in its current form and save a separate application. The main idea of Facebook is to simplify communication between users within a single ecosystem.
It is also reported that the transfer of messages between the platforms will allow Facebook to strengthen its position in the market of instant messengers regarding Google and Apple services.
