After the release of The Walking Dead, Starbreeze shares have dropped by about 50%

Publishing assets are getting cheaper since June.

November 6 released the co-operative shooter The Walking Dead from the studio Overkill Software. The publisher was the company Starbreeze. Since then, the value of its shares has fallen by about half and amounted to $ 0.45 at the time of writing.

The company’s assets rose in price on the eve of E3 2018, but at the end of the exhibition fell sharply from 1.88 to 1.1 dollar per share. Since then, the publisher continues to lose value.

On the release day of The Walking Dead, the company published a financial report, according to which its third-quarter profit fell by 45%. CEO Starbreeze called The Walking Dead the most successful day since the release of Payday 2.

Currently, the peak number of simultaneous players in a zombie shooter is about 14 thousand (Steam). In Payday 2 over the past 24 hours more than 20 thousand users have played simultaneously.

The Walking Dead is the first of eight projects that Starbreeze is working on. The next game should be mobile Payday: Crime War.

In March 2017, Starbreeze announced that it will be the publisher of System Shock 3 and will invest $ 12 million in development. It is not yet known how the low stock price will affect the company’s plans.
