Skybound Games has announced that it no longer works with Team Cherry to transfer the game to “new platforms.”
The decision was made by mutual agreement. According to the developers, for the team of three people, transferring the game to physical media turned out to be an “overwhelming task”.
We are saddened to share that we’ll no longer be working with @TeamCherryGames to bring #HollowKnight to new platforms. We absolutely love the game and wish Team Cherry continued success. We look forward to seeing what’s next for them. pic.twitter.com/Cyp9tniGKuAdvertisement

In Team Cherry do not exclude that the game will be released on disk later – when the studio is not so much busy with the support and development of the project.
The game first came out on a PC in 2017, and in 2018 got to the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. The critically acclaimed metropolis is only available in digital form.
