Snapchat has upload it’s instant video on Facebook and instagram. The company continuously working with some interesting, innovative features. Snapshots ability to 3D map a setting is actually pretty impressive, especially since it’s able to do such a complicated task with a normal phone camera.
What are world lenses?
Snapchat describes them as Lenses that allow you to “paint the world around you with new 3D experiences.” The new ‘World Lenses’ add augmented reality elements to any scene you can capture with your camera, placing 3D objects you can actually walk around with your smartphone’s camera, which is actually a lot closer to what we used to mean when we said “augmented reality” in its earlier days.
The new “World Lenses” can be accessed from the home screen when you open the app and, most impressively, don’t need any additional hardware or special cameras. The new filters let you do one of three things: You can throw flowers into a scene, drop in some 3D text or add cute little 3D objects like a smiling rainbow. Adorable! Placing an object in Snapchat works similar to using some of the selfie filters that already exist in the app.
The video shared below with the update’s rollout shows how users can tap the screen when using the rear facing camera to find new lenses from which they can “paint the world.” Cool about this new feature is that it just seems to work like magic.
